Accessibility

We would like to ensure that our website is accessible to everyone. We strive for compliance and comply with the guidance provided by the Royal National Institute on Blind; level AA in the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

Listed here are a few of the modification we have put in place to make our website more accessible:

Images

We have use ‘alt’ tags to describe images to the visually challenged.

Stylesheets

We have employed stylesheets instead of manual text styles to modify how the text appears on our website (Instructions for the same can be found further down on this page).

Headers

To structure the pages and to give clarity on the content, we have used header elements.

Navigation

The navigation bar and site map are two of the ways to access our site.

To learn all about this website and its accessibility or to raise a concern, please e-mail us at connect@aisociety.international. The concerns will be resolved as soon as possible.

Changing Font Size

You can use the browser settings to modify the font size.

Internet Explorer Users

 Select View > Text Size.

Firefox Users

Select View > Text Size > Increase Font/Decrease Font, or use the keyboard shortcut by pressing Ctrl and + to increase the text size, or – to decrease the text size. Ctrl and 0 return you to the default size.

Safari Users

Select View and click on the options Make Text Bigger or Make Text Smaller. You can also use the following shortcut keys: Apple and + or Apple and –.

Opera Users

Select View > Preferences > Fonts and change Minimum Font Size (pixels).

Stylesheets

To change how the text appears, you can import your stylesheet into our website. Follow the steps below.

Internet Explorer Users

Select Tools > Internet Options > Accessibility. Next click on any or all of the three checkboxes to ignore colours, font styles or font sizes. In the same window, you can change the stylesheet by clicking the checkbox that says ‘Format document using my stylesheet’ then browse to your preferred stylesheet and click OK.

Firefox And Mozilla Users

Firefox and Mozilla browsers do not have the option for you to use your stylesheets. Click on the Tools > Options > Content tab to select your colour and font preferences.

Safari Users

Select Safari menu > Preferences and click on the Advanced tab. Choose ‘Other’ in the Stylesheet drop-down and browse to your stylesheet. Restart your browser and your styles will be applied to all pages you visit after that.

Opera Users

Select File > Preferences. Click on the ‘Page Style’ heading on the left-hand menu. Click the drop-down box next to Default Mode, and choose User Mode from the list. Select Choose under the ‘My Stylesheet’ heading. Browse to the stylesheet you wish to open, double click on it to return to the Preferences window. Click OK to return to Opera.

Browser Compatibility

AISI provides two levels of browser-dependent support and end-user operating system support. Level 3 is unsupported.

Level 1

When the end-user browser is operated with its default setting, AISI global website conforms with all the design and specification features (default text size, JavaScript enabled, CSS enabled, images enabled).

Level 2

All content is included on the website of AISI; the appearance and feel of the site will mostly correspond to designs and specifications but small differences are expected that do not impair technical ability to use the site; enhanced behaviour (usually scripted) may not be available.

Level 3

Unsupported; designs and specifications can be different from the look and feel. In the process of the user experience, design and technically developing procedures of the level 3 browser and operating system combinations are therefore not specifically considered.
